Greetings and Happy Hacking

I use Linux on and off since 1990-ish, when I built my first Slackware off 3.5 floppies bought at a local shareware store. I wanted to learn C programming, and since I could not afford Turbo C at the time I was advised to use gcc. When I did the IMB sysadmin at work started calling me 'The Hacker'. Ever-since I get somewhat upset when I read about crackers being called - well, me.

That is not a post but an attack. The usual pile of crap left by a confused but unfortunately and still alien soul.

I have not used Slackware for long time, for some reasons I prefer Debian, but only as a personal preference. My list of to-do is so long it nearly blinds me, but as of part of that I am currently building a VirtualBox host the size of a warehouse in my home, and I am absolutely going to include a Slackware guest.

I would say my preference to Debian is very close to the spirit of your signature - that is, UNIX is more of a way to think, reason and act than being just another stack of complicated technology. I am proud of and highly value what using GNU/Linux taught me, and I sure hope your worries about its future never materialize.

Much regards,
