Greetings

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this forum. My reason for joining is that I am working with a number of businesses and it has become necessary to set up a database for each firm. Since microsoft is so expensive and these owners are on a shoe string budget it was suggested to use open office 3.4.1.

I downloaded the program and ordered the book (OPEN OFFICE 3.4 Volume III: BASE). Yesterday I received the book and started working through it. Since I do have a little background in databases (Ashton Tate Dbase III, Access 2000) I thought I would have enough knowledge working with Open Office.

Unfortunately, after reviewing the beginning 20 pages of this book ((OPEN OFFICE 3.4 Volume III: BASE), I feel extremely let down. At that point I started going on the internet to try to fill many of the gaps of information and I have been somewhat sucessful. Then I ran into this forum and thought it would be great to get involved with something like this.

Hopefully we can learn from each other. Any information I can share I will and I am ready and eager to get the help I need with open office.

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of this. This is the first time I gotten involved with a venue like this and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from the member ship.

Best Regards,
ACCS

Shivaa,

Thank you for kind response. I am sure in the coming days there will be many questions as soon as I start putting together this database from open office. Your kind offer is greatly appreciated! Take care.
