Hi all --

I'd like to express my gratitude to the generous and savvy folks who answer questions here. This forum has become my first stop when I need to quickly find an answer so I can get my work done. I'm a consultant of many hats .... if I were lots younger (my first computer ran on MS-DOS 3.1) I would be really into Linux, but this far down the road I have too many aspects to my job description to put that much time into the strictly technical side of things.

That said, I manage a few little websites on CentOS/cPanel virtual machines, and occasionally just need to know things like "how do I tell what version of XYZ I am running?" or "how do I remove a directory and everything in it again, I forget"

Maybe some day I'll find myself able to answer someone else's question here, who knows. But meantime very glad this forum is here. It's such a rich resource I have always found the answer just by searching, I haven't had to ask yet.
