First post from non-newbie who still could learn a few things

Hi folks,

I've been working with *nix since about 1989, starting with HP-UX. Also have been a sysadmin on Alliant, old SunOS, Solaris, IRIX, AIX, and probably a few more I've forgotten about. I had played with RedHat on SPARC and with OpenBSD and so forth a little, but didn't get too deep into Linux until I took a job in a RedHat (RHEL 3/4/5) shop nearly 3 years ago.

At the moment I'm studying for the RHCE exam. I'm supposed to go to a boot camp course in January but it's a hard cert and I'm weak in some areas -- especially hardware, kernel, selinux. For the job I mostly install and configure open source software. We compile a lot of our own, especially for the older systems.
