Debian fan - the universal operating system


My first Linux install was from slackware floppies (kernel 1.2.8) and I have been a proponent of Linux ever since. Debian has been my favorite distro for years now because I like to only install what is needed and nothing more. It does have default Desktop, Server, etc. installs, but I hardly ever choose those.

Arch has a very similar "build it from the ground up" principle, but is a bleeding-edge rolling release.
