Casual Linux user signing in

Hi

Once again I have picked up Linux. This time it is because I am trying to set up a lightweight machine filling the following needs:
  • LAN file server
  • Printer server
  • File backup
  • Media (music and pictures) server
  • CD-ripping
  • Light desktop work and easy access to web documentation for setting up the server stuff.

This means mainly a home server, but not headless.

This forum seems to be full of knowledge and experience, and even if I problably will ask more than I answer, I will contribute with my experiences when it feels right.

And BTW: I live in Norway, a country where keeping the PC cool is rarely any problem. ;-)
