Been reading LQ for several years, especially when I need help fixing or improving my system.
Played with RedHat back in the 90's, didn't care much for it then but it has become so much better that we use it for server systems along with CentOS.
Tinkered with Mandrake in the early 2000's but it lacked some support I needed so dropped that also.
Got turned on to Ubuntu on version 6.x and never looked back.
Have been using Ubuntu ever since with a VirtualBox experience for Windows 7 so I can stay up-to-speed on M$ issues. Where I work is a Windows environment, nobody else uses *nix so I need to keep abreast of the changes in M$ products.
I enjoy downloading different (and obscure) *nix variants and loading them up in a virtual environment to play around and see the different flavors.
