Cool Aloha

-from London.

I am entirely n00bish, and have found myself arriving at these forums over and over again when googling for solutions to trivial and not-so-trivial* problems, so I figure that a) to remove the ads and in-text links and more importantly b) to perhaps help future lost souls by publicly humiliating myself and receiving succint advice on problems, which they in turn might google themselves and benefit from, I should finally join this forum. I repeat, I will unfortunately, for now, probably be on the receiving end of the advice vector, so please bear with me.

I am a developer but also deal with design and front-end, and have until recently tried very hard to ignore the "L" in LAMP, but have now forced myself into the deep end by renting an unmanaged server which I aim to consolidate my projects on and develop new ones.

* just last night I managed to remove Yum & RPM and be left without a compiler on a remote server... all is back to normal now though.
