Smile A quick hello

I'm going to be installing some flavor of Linux on a netbook/mini (not sure which one yet but leaning toward the Eee 1000HE). Just hunting for information that might be relevant.

Take a look here-
There are many flavors...
It depends also on your experience with Linux...
How much RAM you have...
How much HD space...
If you have a high-RAM machine I would suggest Ubuntu-8.04/8.10, Debian Lenny, or maybe Fedora 10.
If you have a low-RAM machine-under 512MB-use-
Goblinx-Mini/Micro/Standard/XFlash ( http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/ )
Wolvix-Hunter/Cub ( http://wolvix.org/ )
See DistroWatch too-( http://distrowatch.com/ )

Thanks!

Hey everybody,

Thanks for the tips. When I got on this board for the first time I was surprised by how many different distros there are. As for the netbook, right now I'm leaning towards the Eee PC. My 2nd & 3rd choices are HP 2140 and Dell Mini 9. Choices, choices.
