Is the dongle recognised by the distribution you're using? And: Which one would that be? Still the original (Linpus, I gather), or something else? What works how depends on this, so please tell us. I'm pretty confident this can be solved (I'm using a bluetooth dongle and a 3G phone to connect to the net pretty effortlessly).

If you have to, I'd switch to another distribution - I'm using Ubuntu on my EeePC, and it works like a charm.

Additionally, I think this issue'd better be placed in the Netbook/Notebook forum instead of the Intro space; I'll gladly remove my comment if you want to use your own starting point in some other way...

If you don't have an external CD or DVD drive (USB), you'll have to generate a bootable USB key. Ubuntu can generate one if you boot the live CD. You can do that on any computer that can boot from CD. This'll not change anything on that computer - but you need a free USB key (or storage device). The menu entry is in "System" -> "Administration".
