This assumes you are on-line, which I'm struggling with - how can I burn a cd with this on? If it's possible

Mandriva

From a few linux I have used Mandriva LE 2005 is an excellent flaviour. I got the images from the back of a magazine I bought in South Africa. I have tried to burn them on CDs. I have also installed them on my computer.

Linux being a fee source it is a software which has come to stay.

medium "contrib" already exists
[root@localhost ter]# urpmi.addmedia jpackage ftp://ftp.rutgers.edu/pub/Mandrakeli...media/jpackage with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz
unable to access hdlist file of "contrib", medium ignored

Thumbs up Installing software on Mandriva

Hi I am an rather Ancient Noobie,
And I have to say what a delight to find MOTUBS article on rpmDrake, I was on the point of giving up trying to find a simple graphical installation system and also giving up on Mandriva as I have spent so much time looking for info re software installation rather than enjoying what is the best Distro I have used, though not the easiest.

I have asked the wrong questions in my searches DOH!

I had been looking for a entry called rpmDrake in the menus, I now realise that Control centre is what I should have known was rpmDrake!

Motubs article should be on the intro to Mandriva information.

Thank you MOTUB, and all of you that give your time to help other Noobs whether Ancient or Modern!
Sincerely Geofrs
