Zydas USB Install

Hi, I'm pretty new to linux, so please bear with me any stupid mistakes.

I have a Belkin F5D7050 USB Wireless connecter, with a Zydas chipset. Having found a few tutorials though google to do with the chipset, I downloaded their driver from here *** Sorry, I can't link since it's my first post. See double post below, thanks *** . However, when I unzip the tarball, it has no makefile, so I can't compile (right word?) the driver.

I'm running Xubuntu Feisty with kernel 2.6.20-15

Any help much appreciated.

Matt

This is the link to the drivers:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/zd1211

EDIT:

I've now discovered the drivers are included with the kernel. I have checked they are loaded and the device is using it (lshw and lsmod). I try to get an IP address by:

sudo dhclient eth1

however, I can get no response. A wired connection to the router works, and the adaptor works when I boot to XP.

Did you look at ifconfig and iwconfig to verify the interface is "up" and has wireless extensions? Can you set addresses statically?

You might need the firmware. I don't know if it's available through repositories, but you can get it from the sourceforge site where you got the source tarball.
