zd1211 usb wlan adapter connects but after x hours -> disconnection

Hi,

can anyone help me with my zd1211-wlan problem...

I have a connection through the zd1211 modul but without any reason it disconnects after x minutes or hours. /var/log/messages says:
Code:
Apr 12 23:04:40 linux kernel: zd1211:USB ST Code = -71
Apr 12 23:04:40 linux kernel: nonzero read bulk status received: -EPROTO
Apr 12 23:04:47 linux kernel: ******We Lose AP for 5 seconds
Apr 12 23:04:47 linux kernel: zd1211:zd1205_dis_connect
Apr 12 23:04:47 linux kernel: zd1205_notify_disjoin_event
Any idea what these errors says which gives me this disconnects?

Thanks

Hi,
After a bit of googling around, it looks like this is a general problem with the native driver and is AP specific.
I've got the same chipset on one of my setups and I'm using the zd1211rw kernel module. It works fine, but I'm not doing anything fancy, just a single AP with WEP and hidden SSID. If you'd like to try it, the wiki is here.

Cheers

Thanks for the hint...

I use OpenSuse 10.2 with kernel 2.6.18.x and so i blacklisted zd1211 and modprobed zd1211rw, made the eth1 wlan connection and what should I say.... until now it works without any disconnects

Hope this solved the problem!

Hey, that's great news, long may it continue. Check on the changelog from time to time at the linuxwireless.org site, new additions and improvements to the driver are being implemented with each new kernel upgrade.

Cheers
