# ndiswrapper -v
utils version: 1.8
driver version: 1.14
vermagic: 2.6.11-6mdk 686 gcc-3.4

In fact I have 2005 LE on the PC with the wireless
Can you first try with ndis version 1.8
and post the result of lsub ! so we know you have the same device version

edit mya appology my instructions may not be clear enough

5420_rel1.0.zip is the downloaded file at the time
unzip 5420_rel1.0.zip
# cd USR03232004/
# unshield x data1.cab
cannot find the right size file in there

I am sure it is (but date no kept when using unshield)
-rw-rw-r-- 1 29184 Apr 25 00:49 RNDISMPK.sys
-rw-rw-r-- 1 13824 Apr 25 00:49 usb8023k.sys

so in fact I used method2 with files from method 1 then
unzip F5D7051.exe (method 1)
unshield x DATA1.CAB
unshield x DATA2.CAB
then the driver I would have used
2Kdriver/usb8023k.sys
# ls -l 2Kdriver/
total 48
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 29184 May 19 23:11 RNDISMPK.sys

See my edited instruction previous message
It should work now
You have the right device, just check under the removable plastic that it says version 2.1 as well

Sorry again, I must have had mixed up memories when I wrote the howto.
The whole point of having somebody trying to replicate really

I am off. Let us know if it works.

THe files from the US Robotic sites folder do not work correctly, You must download the files F5D7051 Drivers from http://web.belkin.com/support/downlo...k&lang=1&mode= the Windows 2K File works fine...

I Installed it on my Windows XP Partition..

Run Linux, go to devices, windows, Grab ALL the files out of the Belkin/Drivers folder, and copy them to my linux drive.

Insert linksys CD and get files from drivers folder..

Put all in same folder...

Log into root shell

# mkdir wusb54gs/
# ndiswrapper make uninstall
delete etc/ndiswrapper/wusb54gsv2 folder

# make
# make install

...diswrapper is installed

# ndiswrapper -i wusb54gs/WUSB54GSv2.inf

# ndiswrapper -l
Installed drivers:
wusb54gsv2 invalid driver!

# ls -l /etc/ndiswrapper/wusb54gsv2/
13B1:0014.F.conf wusb54gsv2.inf

# cp wusb54gs/RNDISMPK.sys /etc/ndiswrapper/wusb54gsv2/
# cp wusb54gs/usb8023k.sys /etc/ndiswrapper/wusb54gsv2/

# ndiswrapper -l
Installed drivers:
wusb54gsv2 driver install, device present!

Thats all I do... So Inside /etc/ndiswrapper/wusb54gsv2/ is RNDISMPK.sys usb8023k.sys 13B1:0014.F.conf and wusb54gsv2.inf

I'm giving up after a long night last night... After i got th e Driver installed i didnt know what modprobe ndiswrapper does or ndiswrapper -m but I did both those without iwconfiging and I think thats important to do after you config then -m??? Not sure what m does...

anyways

iwconfig wlan0 .... all zeros and off's show up. no bitrate or anything... iwlist wlan0 scan doesnt suppor toperation... iwconfig wlan0 ap XX:XX:XX:XX:XX Invalid argument???

not working...

>>i didnt know what modprobe ndiswrapper does or ndiswrapper -m
man ndiswrapper
will explain what it does
To read the wifi configuration file
less /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0

Your best chance to configure simply the network is
via the MCC (Mandy Control Center wifi connection icone.
Otherwise by editing by hand the config file
to restart the network once you modify anyhting do

service network restart

I am not a wifi expert so I do not think I can guide you
for the whole process.
