WUSB54G v1 and ndiswrapper: connection locks up

Hi all,

I have been able to successfully set up wireless networking using ndiswrapper 1.3rc1. I have a Linksys WUSB54G v1 network adapter, connected to a WRT54G router using WPA-PSK and CCMP (AES). However, after a certain amount of time (particularly if network traffic on the wireless adapter is heavy), the connection suddenly locks up. Both the Power and Link buttons on the adapter remain solid, and I have to disconnect and reconnect the adapter before resuming network operation.

If it helps any, I'm using CentOS 4.1 with a custom-built Linux 2.6.13 kernel.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks,

I had a similar problem with SUSE 9.3 and a Dlink wireless card, It turned out that the drivers I was using were not working corectly I switched drivers and boom the problem was fixed, also a little note I have never had much luck with the newer versions of ndiswrapper I stick with 1.1 I works very well.

WUSB54G does not agree with ndiswrapper. You can get it working, but often times, it has to deal with unique kernel options. I personally was never able to, though I know people that have. One thing that is important to note, is that most windows drivers are "inferior" and require 8+k stacks to function properly. Try reverting to a 2.6.11 that still has the option for 8k stacks.
