wpc54g and slackware isn't working

I have a wpc54g and I can't get it to do anything.
I have searched and searched for an answer yet.

I tried to talk to linksys TS and they said "Actually our devices are designed to work with only Microst OS's."

Is it true that this card will not work in slackware 9.1 with 2.4 kernel?

If it isn't true can someone please point me to a manual for this or explain on here?
