WPC54G and ndiswrapper on slackware

Ok, well i've searched and searched to make sure I can't answer my own question.

I have a Linksys WPC54G PCMCIA Wireless Adapter and trying to use the ndiswrapper 8 for the windows drivers
I installed via these directions:

[linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?postid=877345] - Unable to post links.

Whenever I do a iwconfig it says:
lo no wireless extensions

eth0 no wireless extenstions

I don't know what to do from here...

This card isn't getting recognized.

What do you see in dmesg after you modprobe ndiswrapper... ie:
dmesg | grep ndis

Hmmm... I had a similar problem with the broadcom card that I have... I had to use the bcmwl5a.inf instead of the bcmwl5.inf in the driver file that I grabbed from dell. Where did you get the driver from for your ndiswrapper because if ndiswrapper -l only reports:

Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5

and not

Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 present

Then you may need to try a different inf.

I also get
Installed ndis driver:
lsbcmnds

and not
lsbcmnds present

I'm not sure what to do...

Okay so let's just double check the process.

Get driver from linksys
ndiswrapper -i "whatever".inf

ndiswrapper -l
--answers--
Installed ndis driver:
lsbcmnds

modprobe ndiswrapper
dmesg | grep ndis
--answers--
ndiswrapper version 0.8 loaded
ndiswrapper adding bcmwl5.sys

Seems to me that it's not detecting the card at all... are you sure you have the broadcom version of the wpc54g card? Sorry I'm just not sure where it's messing up.

That is what i'm saying... it doesn't detect the card at all
Do I have the broadcom version... I think so... It is my understanding that the card is broadcom based... I only see 1 driver available from linksys.com
I've searched for other drivers but see non.

Sorry that I've been no help to this point... I'm stuck but if you wanna try the driver that works for me and my broadcom chipset minipci card I've got it posted at www.albany.edu/~hudson/broadcom.tar.gz if you ungzip it and untar it there is the bcmwl5a.inf file that works for me in the driver directory.

when I type ndiswrapper -m I get:
modprobe config already contains alias directive

not sure if that is good or bad. =)
