WPA2-Enterprise on Damn Small Linux
 

I've recently resurrected an ancient Gateway Solo 2500 laptop that a friend of mine gave me, and of course the first thing I wanted to do was install Linux on it. The hardware is bad and the only distro I could get working (mostly due to a barely-working CD-ROM drive) was Damn Small Linux.

Using ndiswrapper, I successfully got the Linksys Wireless G Notebook Adapter working great on my WEP network at my home (I need WEP for my Nintendo DS, sadly). This actually worked great for hours with no disconnecting. The problem comes from WPA2-Enterprise networks.

DSL's set of tools is very stripped down, and I can't find a way to connect to WPA2-Enterprise networks. Is there a way to do it with iwconfig or something? I know the card and drivers work, and I can even scan for and find the networks. I'm just not sure how to input my username and password to sign into the network.

I don't use DSL,but do you have wpa_supplicant? Have you tried to use wicd?

I also have been looking for a solution on how to have Damn Small Linux use WPA2. I can say that DSL has wpa_supplicant. All I need to do is know how to use it to connect to my network using WPA2.

I have a wireless card that uses the atheros chipset so the driver I would be using in DSL is the madwifi (not entirely sure). I have googled on how to set up the wpa_supplicant.conf file and I came across this page here, perhaps this can lead us in the right direction on setting this up in Damn Small Linux.

Well there are lots of good tutorials about everything said here,but I'd say that Carla Schroder always make it nice and easy to understand the topic for most people.I have read some of her tutorials and they all have been very easy to read and understand and very helpfull to me sometimes.So check it out.
