I finally got my MN-720 card working with OpenSuSE, and now I would like to use my WPA encryption. I had temporarily switched over to WEP to have some sort of encryption while I was adjusting things, but since WPA is much stronger, I would like to switch back. Apparently, iwconfig does not accept 'passphrase' keys, so I have no way of doing it there. When I type 'iwconfig wlan0 key restricted [my wpa key here]' it gives me the following errors:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
[1] 7368
[1] Exit 251 iwconfig wlan0 key restricted
I checked man iwconfig to confirm my hunch, and I was correct. Passphrase keys are not currently supported. I tried to use YaST to configure my card, and it has all the right info plugged in. It has support for WPA, but for some odd reason the YaST configuration is not dominating over the iwconfig configuration. I tried editing the ifcfg-wlan0 to no avail. Apparently both of my keys were in there, the old WEP key and the new WPA key that I inserted into YaST. Any idea what's wrong?
Thanks in advance,
chiefreborn
