wlan0 won't show up with iwconfig

Okay, I have a Linksys Wireless G card with my Dell Laptop.

I downloaded and activated ndiswrapper with the driver fine, but when I type "iwconfig" I get this..

lo no wireless extensions
eth0 no wireless extensions

I'm running a clean (literally less than an hour old) install of Slackware 10 using the default kernel.

So, anyone have any ideas?

just a note for using ndiswrapper

to start and stop your card use this command when logged in as root

modprobe ndiswrapper <<<to bring it up
modprobe -r ndiswrapper <<<it take it down

sometimes when the card wants to misbehave a quick down then up can fix things
