I'm sure this is a repeat thread, but I've searched LQ and Googled to no avail. Anyway...
I had my WUSB11 wireless adapter working perfectly under ndiswrapper 1.13. After shutting down my computer for a day and booting up again, my wireless card suddenly stopped working. I can't get dhcpcd to get an address. In fact, the only affect it has is to take down wlan0 after I have brought it up with the command
Here are some things that confuse me:
- This interface worked fine for months on an identical installation (this was only interrupted due to a hard drive crash)
- Since getting a new hard drive, the adapter has worked well for one to two weeks
- This is a dual-boot computer with Windows 2000, under which the wireless adapter still works
- Since the problem started in Linux (Slack 10.2, btw), I have had a puzzling issue in Windows as well. Initially Windows will not recognize my wireless adapter as such...simply as a generic USB device. I have to disconnect it and reconnect it, after which things will work normally.
In the spirit of keeping this post as short as possible, I have posted several logs and configuration files at the following address:
Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to offer some help. (I want to love Linux, not feel white-hot rage...)
