Question WLAN ralink

I got my new WLAN card yesterday (Cnet CWP-854) and I immidiatly started to work with it. First I tested it on windows and it worked great really, but the reason for me buying it is that I want it for linux. I'm NOT interested in ndiswrapper and though there are ralink drivers I would love to have them. I followed the guide for SuSE 9.2 on bbzone (can't paste url sorry because of rules) even though I use SuSE 10.0. I'm not sure I made it all correct but I didn't get any failures until "ifup ra0" which is the last step. So what I'm asking for is some help which tells how to make my ralink WLAN work for linux.

Thanks for replies and have a nice day

Suse 10 supports the ralink cards out of the box - not so hot using WPA or WEP though. Use YAST to check settings and drivers loaded.

I can see that it's listed as wirelesslan card in hardware list, but I couldn't change anything there. But in network section I couldn't see it. Could you plz be more specific of where to go and what to do?

I am not sur but it necessary to create a file par vi ifcfg-wlan0 in cd /etc/sysconfig/network_scripts
ESSID=name of your name
BOOTPROTO=none ( replace by yes if you wanted to use DHCP)
