WLAN in Slackware 9.1. Help!
I'm having some troubles trying to get my ASUS WL-100 802.11b card working in Slack. The card uses the prism 2 chipset (according to linux-wlan.org) so I downloaded the sources and compiled my own drivers. I pretty much followed the guide at the linksys website
Anyhow... when I put in the PCMCIA card nothing really happens. The "link" led on the card lights up but I don't know if my computer detected it at all. I don't see wlan0 when I do ifconfig. Do I have to configure any scripts to automatically load a driver into the system once the card is inserted?
I'm running Slackware 9.1 with kernel 2.4.22 patched to 2.4.22-ac4 . If anyone here could right a quick step by step guide / checklist that would be great! Thanks for the time.
