You use modprobe: "modprobe <nameofmodule>", or add the "-v" flag to help keep track of what is happening. Use "cat /proc/net/wireless" to see the new device that appears when the module has been successfully inserted. In your case, I guess the command would be "modprobe -v ndiswrapper". (This assumes you've gone through the preliminary steps to wrap up the driver with ndiswrapper.)

what are the preliminary steps? unzippng the tar.gz then

ndiswrapper -i filename.inf

then if i get this

bcmwl5: driver installed
device (14E4:4320) present

when i check that is good right? then i just do

modprobe -v ndiswrapper like you said? or is there anything i am missing?

oh and after all this and specifying the ESSID (there is no WPA or WEP security) does slackware have any unique configuration i should go through or is that it.
