wlan authentication howto?

hello

i successfully installed my wlan card (intel ipw2200) on my laptop (amilo m7440), i can connect to the wlan network, i can use the DNS (name resolve works, but no ping reply comes) but nothing more.

On windows I need to supply login/pass and a "vpn.university.hu" address to be able to use the network, however I have not found where to use these data on my linux box.

I already searched for it on google and this forum, but seems as if I was the only one who's using a non-open wifi hotspot.

Maybe it's using WPA (Radius server), that could mean you need wpa_supplicant as wireless_tools don't handle that.
Unfortunately haven't been able to use wpa_supplicant successfully myself.
