I have a problem with my wireless connection on my laptop and hopefully I could get it solved with your help.

The computer is a toshiba satellite a100, with Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and Slackware 11 on it. I'm using ipw3945 and wpa_supplicant. The thing is that the connection gets lost after idling some time and it needs some 5-10 minurtes to reestablish it by reloading the ipw3945 module and relaunching wpa_supplicant. In the beginning everything works fine, but after some time it gets reset again.
One thing I've noticed is that the essid changes from reconnection to reconnection (an additional last letter appears that changes). While isn't working, iwevent shows every 2-3 seconds how eth1 (my wireless interface) gets and looses alternatively the access point.
In Windows everything works and so far it seems it works with MCNLive that boots from a USB thumb drive.


Any idea where to look or how to start solving the problem?
