Wireless router to wireless access point
this question isent specific to linux but since I have had good luck getting questions answered here I figured Id ask.
I have a wireless router, and a wire less access point with an ethernet connection out. Im trying to have the access point connect to the wireless router and then from the ethernet port into the WAN port of a switch. Cat5 | ------ Wireless| ****** [PC}------[wireless router] ********[wireless Access Point]-------[PC] anyone know how to do this? |
So you want to join the two wireless devices wirelessly? :) If you're using a home grade router such as Linksys it can't be done by default. However, there are thrid party firmware "upgrades" that allow it. You just have to search for them. Try using a search term of "mod firmware" or something along that line.

thats depressing, but thanx for the update, in that case do you know how to mod a usb wireless adapter or pcmcia card to get a better range?
