Wireless profiles not saving
Hello all,
I have a small problem working with Fedora Core 3 on my laptop. I have a wireless network in my apartment, and another wireless network at my school which I need to access. When I am at home, my wireless settings are saved nicely. I have gone into "Network Configuration" and created a new profile for when I am on campus. No problem there. The only inconvenience is that there is no where to input a wep key or ssid in this gui. So I head on over to the good old command line and enter in my info with "/sbin/iwconfig eth1 essid id" and "/sbin/iwconfig eth1 key XXXXXX" and then I am connected to the school network. Now, if I shut down the computer and restart it, it seems to lose these settings and I need to re-enter them. Or if I switch back to my "Home" profile, it loses the ssid for there as well. Now, if I am at home and enter the ssid and restart, it saves. What gives? Thanks npc. |
Also, I have edited my grub.conf to have two selections.... the first has netprofile=default and the second has netprofile=school. I figured this would be the easiest way to switch between the two profiles, but they don't seem to work... guessing because of the above mentioned problem.
