i've just installed slackware 12 and i have a problem running ipw2200.

at boot, lines that refer to wireless are the following :

ipw2200: failed to register network device

ipw2200: probe of 0000:06:02.0 failed with error -5

i tried to solve the problem as shown in the firmware install file by mounting sysfs or reinstalling hotplug in vain

It simply can't find the firmware. Download it from http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net and place it in the correct location. The README claims it is /lib/firmware, and that is where I have my ipw2200 firmware.
