Angry Wireless PCMCIA net card

I am fairly new to linux and i have installed Mandrake 10.1 after downloading it. it was installed on my Dell latitude c800 i have a wireless PCMCIA net card which i would like to get working so i can connect to the wireless router and surf the internet from the laptop.
i have found the drivers for the card but am unsure how to install them and configure the card. or suggest a wireless card that can easliy be detected and configured could anyone please give me some guidance on this matter. i would hate to have to format the laptop and install windows again!!!

Thanks

Chris

Which driver are you installing? Does the driver file end in .rpm or .tar.gz?

I know this is a late reply but ....

To install the driver:

>gunzip filename.tar.gz
>tar -xvf filename.tar
>cd filename
>ls
Try to find a readme or other appropriate file that will give you some additional details on how to properly install the driver.
