Wireless on Fujitsu Siemens LI1818 with Fedora 11

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi,

Im having problems getting wireless to work on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo LI1818 laptop with Fedora Core 11 installed.

I used to have XP installed and wireless worked ok, the switch is a Netgear DG834G.

Basically, ive installed the sis163u driver and ndiswrapper which both seem to have been installed and configured correctly. Ive googled and read but nothing seems to get the wireless working.

Ive pasted some output below in the hope someone will be able to assist. For info, everything works well when I connect a cable to the Netgear and plumb an IP on the Fedora OS.

Thanks in advance...

Fujitsu Amilo LI 1818

By the data-sheet of the Amilo li 1818, it uses Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/docs/..._1818_1820.pdf

The Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG is supported by the kernel with the module iwl3945.ko

Try to install the iwl3945-firmware with yum install iwl3945-firmware (fedora uses yum right?). Avoid if possible windows drivers trough ndiswrapper.

Hi, thanks for the reply...

Removed the ndiswrapper and loaded iwl3945 but wireless still doesnt work.

Will persist in my investigations and if I have any success post the resolution.

Thanks again...
