I just bought a Linksys router and card for my laptop after my D-link began to have issues. One of the reasons I chose Linksys because better support for Linux than D-link. Basically I thought I could get it working.
I have Suse 9.1 and it see it in Yast as Linksys Ethernet controller. I chose that to configure and selected 'wireless' and set the SSID name along with my WEP key and ..nothin. I don't even see it when I 'ifconfig' in the command window.
I'm obviously not very familiar with Linux but I want to completely dump Windows from my laptop but it won't happen if I can't connect.
I connect just fine if I go downstairs where the router is and plug into it but that's just too much of a hassle, I'd rather keep Windows with wireless.
I've been searching the forum but haven't found much info that helps.
