I've been working on getting wireless to work on my laptop, and just about every walkthrough I've used has not worked, for one reason or another (maybe they're all assuming more knowledge on my part than I have). I have an HP Pavilion zv6000.

That is my wireless card info, as best as I can tell.

Now, when I go into the Network Configuration, and made a new wireless network (my wireless card showed up), I put in the information all correct (I think so, anyways). I put the IP info to Auto, and tried to activate it. It can't ever get IP information. What's going on?

Are you using ndiswrapper?
What distro?
Post iwconfig -a
I had that card (mini-pci) on a laptop and had to use ndiswrapper.
Some distros come with it pre-installed but you may still have to configure it and load the driver.
