wireless driver recognizing device erratically -- Mandrake 10.1

I am running Mandrake 10.1, and have a Linksys WUSB11b v2.8 wireless adapter.

The adapter worked fine under Mandrake 10, but with the 10.1 upgrade the driver appears to only recognize the adapter in one out of every ~five boots.

The adapter requires one of the at76c505 drivers, and lsmod'ing shows the proper driver loaded; however, the mandrake control center does not show that the driver is available.

The control center does show the at76c503 driver as available.

I am unsure whether the at76c505 fits under the umbrella of the at76c503, or not.

Would this be a problem with the driver recognizing the adapter, or would it be a problem with the system using the driver?

Being relatively new to wireless, I am unfamiliar with debugging it.

Thanks all

if it's an atmel device with Mandrake, take a look here:

oops, also look here since yours is a 505 (?):
atmelwlandriver.sourceforge.net

prepare to get your feet wet.
