I have a desktop with MDK 9.2 installed and want to get it onto the internet. I know that this has probable alredy been asked so dont crucify me but i am a newbie - only about two days, and the support that is out there is way over my head. I have a ethernet card already in my PC and was wondering what would be better to buy a wireless PCI card or a Wirelss bridge.
1. i would like to know which one of these options would be better and the easiest to set up
2. i would like to know which product to buy, again the one with the least amount of hassle.
3. if somebody could write or point me to some very easy to follow directions to set the internet access up.
ps. i will only be using this to get my linux box on to the internet.
so what is the best wireless access point to go with
b/g?
ethernet/usb?
manufacturer?
so it will be able to connect with my wireless broadband router so that my linux box can access the internet?
Ethernet allways. If you use USB you will have to have the computer it is connected to turn on when you want to use it. In general ethernet equipment is less trouble than USB equipment.
>manufacturer?
Read the answer I gave above.
>so it will be able to connect with my wireless broadband router so that my linux box can access the internet?
