It would help us to help you if you cans say us which distribution you use and what the wireless hardware is.

You should know the name of your distribution, for the hardware part post the output of
Code:

lspci
if it is a PCI- or PCIe-device, and the output of
Code:

lsusb
if your wireless device is plugged into a USB-port.
