wifi ubiquiti auto up or what?

I was use for a few days a cisco lmc352 pcmcia card with success on the basic commands:

ifconfig
ifconfig ath0 up
and so on..

Yesterday i buy a ubiquiti pcmcia card and when i boot the backtrack 2 live cd
and try the basic command:

ifconfig

I get this:
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
inet6 addr: : :1/128 Scope:Host
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

I just want my card to be up and ready with monitor mode to do my tests.

Please help.

Thanks

in order for the card to work in monitor mode, you need native linux drivers. type
"lspci" and give us the chipset of the card

Ok idid this lcpci and i can see there:

One wireless card from intel 3945abg This the onboard card from my laptop (why is there? i think i disable this card)I don't care about this card)

And i can see at the end as ethernet controller my wireless pcmcia ubiquiti card based on atheros chipset AR5212 802.11abg rev 01.

Please help
Thanks

Ok i fix it.

Now i am looking to open and configure kismet configuration file and save it to live cd.
I use backtrack v2 live cd.
