WICD getting stuck--cured with reboot

Laptop: HP Compaq 8510W, Intel 4965 Wireless
Arch + KDE 4.3.3 + WICD

Most of the time, this setup works perfectly. However, on various occassions I have been unable to connect with WICD. Dropping into a terminal and using iwconfig + dhcpcd usually does not help, but re-booting **always** fixes it.

A few times, I have run ps -e, and noted a zombie instance of dhcpcd that I cannot kill.

Any clues?

WICD has a log file /var/log/wicd, you can turn it to DEBUG mode in its settings to have more detailed output.
