Ok I have been trying to get the internet working on Linux. I have the following Wireless-B network adapters. If someone can tell me one that will work for Linux that will be great.
Gateway WBU-110
Linksys WUSB11 Version 2.8
Linksys WUSB11 Version 3.0
SpeedStream 1022(uses the Prism drivers but has horrible preformance on Linux)
Microsoft Broadband Networking Adapter MN-510
If anyone has this and has gotten it to work plz tell me. I don't have them all with me so I can't check them on Mandrake 10.
Qzarbaron; have looked at mdk,s hdwr database compatiablity and ldp for
answers? http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX has this section:
4.3.23 and 4.4 networking. it is extensive! tips &wrkarounds.
Yes I did look at the Mandrake Database but that is a database of Hardware Mandrake has drivers for. I am wondering which one of these is know to work with Linux. If none of these work then ill have to buy one that does.
LDP didn't help too much. I just want to know which of these works on Linux.
Qzarbaron; sorry that,s all i`m involved with at present time. but even though i still look at other sites for help. because most linux work with in
common source. they may work but can not hurt. not like W and apps not intended for W will not work and crash not so with linux.
It seems to be a guide to all the Compatible Wireless adapters for Linux. The Gateway WBU-110 is on the list but does not look to promising. The Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless USB Adapter MN-510 is on the list and it says it uses the Prism 2 drivers and it is AVS Tested by Linux-Wlan-ng. This looks very promising(for a very inexpensive adapter). I am going to bring it home tomorrow and will test it out.
