wep with wpa_supplicant ?

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I was wondering if there is a way to connect to wep APs with wpa supplicant?
Everything works fine when i connect to my home network using wpa but when i try to connect to a wep encrypted network noting happens at all.
Tried with gtkwifi but when i type the wep password to connect it says "wep passwords are either 5,10 or 15 letters" or something similar to that.

Using ipw2200 on my laptop if that helps.

Anyone got any ideas? would be much apreciated !

It would help us if you could post your wpa_supplicant.conf file, wpa_supplicant should support WEP. Are you entering the full hexadecimal WEP key, instead of a passphrase?
