Hi, folks!

I'm currently having a very annoying problem;

my US Robotics 56K Sportster Flash external modem (v.90)
will only connect at 14400 when I try to use it in Mandrake 9.2
(I use kppp to dial). I've tried changing the baud settings for
both the serial port and the modem, but it hasn't worked.

Apart from the ludicrous connect speed, no websites work
(DNS error) and I can't ping anything.

I've searched the Net for hours trying to find an answer, but
haven't found anything.

I'm currently using the same modem on a Win2K partition, where
it works fine and always connects at at least 40K.

Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated!!
