Using wireless router as access point
 

I have two wireless routers in my house, router A has the internet connection, but I need it to be able to connect to router B and share the internet connection with it. I've read that this can be done by disabling DHCP on router B and setting it up as a client. However, I don't know how to set it up as a client, could someone please help me with this?


The reason that I'm using two wireless routers instead of a wireless router and an access point is because that is the equipment that I have. Running cables in my house is a non-option so I need to get the wireless bridge between these two routers to work. If anyone has any experience doing this, please tell me how.

I have done this, but it was a royal pain in the butt and cost me an extra $20 (US). Assuming you are using a couple of WRT54G/GS routers (Linksys), here is the guide that helped me do it.

You will need to either download the Freeman or Talisman firmware and install it on your router (voiding the warranty if you still have one). DO NOT use the firmware that this guide recommends. I suggest using the Talisman firmware because the company that makes it will give you tech support.

DO NOT use this firmware if you aren't using a WRT54G/GS router! It will permanently break your hardware!

Feel free to post any further questions, and I'll *try* to answer them. If you aren't using the above routers, please post which ones you are using.

Router A, with the internet connection is a DLink DL-624 and router B, where I need to get the connection to is a DLink DL-524.

If you use the static route , u r problem should be Ok. first u add the acess point routers's routing table with another router IP and u need to configure these route as RIP or IGRP protocol . command like these

Router RIP
network ***.***.***.*** /24
