unpredictable wireless behaviour Suse 10.9 ndiswrapper 1.2
I have kind of managed to get wireless working on Suse 10.9 with ndiswrapper 1.2 with my D-Link DWL-G650 (rev B) card. Here is the ndiswrapper and iwconfig output to prove it :
ndiswrapper: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. ndiswrapper version 1.2 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no) ndiswrapper: driver net5211 (D-Link,7/14/2004,2.2.4.71) loaded ... lo no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"myessid" Nickname:"linux" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437 GHz Access Point: 00:0F:3D:B6:CD:C4 Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Encryption key:xxxxx-xxxx-xx Security mode:restricted Link Quality:43/100 Signal level:-61 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 The only problem is that my surfing is weird : - some sites (my supermarket, my bank, linuxquestions.org) work fine - some sites (bbc.co.uk, amazon.co.uk) have problems connecting, sometimes not responding or timing out or being VERY slow - some sites (Google - go figure) not connecting at all. Does anyone have any ideas of where to look? |
Actually, have just noticed it only happens with Firefox, weird. Konquerer works fine.
