Ubuntu - Rosewill RNX-G300EX Found, Not usable

Hey Ya'll, not a complete newb to linux, but having issues getting my new system's wireless working; any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ubuntu 8.10 32bit on Intel D945GCLF2 (ATOM 330)
Installed: ST9160411AS, 2GB Ram, RNX-G300EX.

Card was present during install of Ubuntu.
Card is found by Ubuntu. Ubuntu is not allowing me to use the card; not showing up in the "Network Connections" application under "Wireless" tab.

The current configs:
Quote:
$ ifconfig

I know there are at least 5 unsecured wireless networks within range; my laptop can see them all, and the 2DB external antenna on the Rosewill should be able to pickup at least 1 (its less than 10 feet away and in LOS).

Suggestions for how to get this card to list the wireless networks in the area as it should?

If the card is active, NetworkManager should be able to deal with configuring and using your card.
