Ubuntu Machine with Enfora GSM/GPRS Modem


Hi All,

I am trying to connect my Ubuntu Machine to internet through Enfora GPRS.

I changed my wvdial.conf and ran it.

Log:

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Warning: section [Dialer /etc/wvdial.conf] does not exist in wvdial.conf.
--> Cannot get information for serial port.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATD*99***1#
--> Waiting for carrier.

--> Timed out while dialing. Trying again.
--> Sending: ATD*99***1#
--> Waiting for carrier.
OK
OK
OK

It continously goes into time out.

Every body on this forum who puts up post says what I am goin to say: "Please help with this... please show me some pointer why this is happening"

Hi All,

As I mentioned in my last post. I am using Enfora GSM/GPRS and trying to connect to internet using same. I am using Ubuntu machine. I ran wvdial.conf script and getting below logs:

I am not sure whether I am connected to internet or not. It seems I am not connected. What changes are required for doing it. is it on linux development machine side or GSM/GPRS evaluation mode?

Please help me with this.
