Two nics, no internet

I have two network cards, one onboard my mobo and a pci one..

Im going through HardDrake to try to configure them but im still not geting any through to my router..

I've tried bringing them up seperately ifconfig eht0 up etc, but nothing is working... Is ther somethig im doing wrong here?

How do i identify which network card to use.. The one im TRYING to use is the pci network card.

thnx
