Trying to use wireless print servers with slackware 10

I have slackware10 installed and have 2 printers hanging off the network. They each have a dlink wireless print server dp-311p. I am trying to use samba to print to them. The smb workgroup is chipman and the smb printer name is laser4. The Printers name is LaserJet4. So the way I understand this whole thing to work is to use cups and choose a windows printer with samba and the address is smb://chipman/laser4/LaserJet4. When I do this I get this error: "Connection failed with error NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL" . I have tried everycombination of this possible and I always get this same message.
If I set it up using http then I get garbage out. On my wife's XP machine it is set up as a networked printer with a socket of type "Dlink print server" because if it is a tcp socket then the same garbage comes out. Has anyone else seen this problem? Help Please!

I'm not sure I understand the logic of trying to connect to the servers through Samba. I've got a linksys wireless print server and I connect to it directly throug CUPS as an lpd device. Try cutting Samba out of the picture and see if that helps.

Thats exactly what I did and it worked perfectly. I just installed both as lpr printers and everything worked. Thanks.
