Total amateur help with CB54G2 (MS-6835)

Hi,

I am totally new to Linux, I have recently installed SUSE 10.1 and am keen to get using it, but I use a wireless connection at home, currently in Windows (I am so rubbish with Linux that I have had to boot into windows just to ask this question - bear this in mind when you post a reply!).

I am currently using a EDIMAX wireless card which shows no drivers for Linux. So I have bought a new one which is a Cardbus with Marketing name CB54G2 on the back. I have downloaded the 2500 driver, but honestly cannot figure out what the hell to do in Linux! Anyone with a nice easy breakdown for me?!

Thanks in advance.

my wireless card uses a different chipset so I can't give you a step by step, untar the driver, open up File Browser and goto the directory you untar'd it into and look for an INSTALL or README file, open it up with a text editor and just follow the instructions. Also I found a thread that gives step by step instructions:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...k+2500+install

always search before you ask a question, 95% of the time you will be able to find what you need.

linux is difficult at first but once you start to understand it there is nothing better if you like to tinker, windows is just too boring for me.

good luck.
