thin client + wireless

Hi all,
I'm planning to set up a server + 4 thin clients network. The communication have to be wireless (wireless LAN).
Unfortunately there are only m$windoze powered thin clients, that support wireless LAN.
According to suggestion for diskless desktop workstation it is possible. has anyone idea or experience how to setup such a network?
thanks in advance,
alex

Server/ThinClient Solution

Check out ltsp.org .

I believe that may be your solution. I use it at home (5 thinclients w/o hardrives booting from a "server", a PIII, 512 MB in the hall closet) and have excellant results. Too, my employer recently began using it (25 thin clients) and is in love with LTSP (as is the company CPA!).

Pretty much painless as long as you read the install instructions first . I do believe there may be support for wireless, too. Not sure , though.

Hope this helps.

I've never seen any pxe enabled NICs so I doubt it is possible to have a diskless terminals with windows either. You could easily set up a small itx box with a flash drive that boots a local OS and loads the wireless stuff, then just run your remote X session as normal.

Wireless LTSP

LTSP has wireless support (not sure if it is PXE or Etherboot) although I have not used it yet (I'm planning on that in the next few months). This link is for v 3's instructions which includes the d/l for the wireless and PXE tools: LTSP v 3.0 Wireless . It may lead you in the direction you need, dunno.

Good Luck,

Apexdv

Edit: P.S. - There is a decent article about wired LTSP at LinuxJournal with a similar question regarding wireless capabilities (with answer) posed at the bottom...
