Red face tethered USB verizon blackberry

Some would do a great service if the "full subject" of HOWTO attach a USB Tethered modem would be described.

In my case, I'm using a Verizon Blackberry 7130e that is tethered via USB.
I've looked at several distro's and they all seem to fall short of being able to build the kernel and do a proper MAKEDEV for the tethered USB modem.

I've must tried Ubuntu 6.10 and it like the others falls short.

If any distro or Verizon would do one full example the issue would most likely allow many users of tethered USB modems to take advantage of the service.

Pick a distro, verify what services are running, add the device, configure the dialup and help those of us in the community that are trying to use Linux instead of MMMMSSSS.

cheers,
cs
